Metroid is a series of adventure video games created by Nintendo. Players seek to protect the galaxy as the iconic bounty hunter Samus Aran. The first release in the Metroid series was on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986 and the series has remained popular to this day, with numerous releases and spin-offs. Samus herself has gone on to feature in various other Nintendo games.
